Promoters Project is an initiative to achieve the labor inclusion of people with disabilities in countries throughout Europe. It has just started in Madrid and Pistoia, thanks to the cooperation of the associations Arci (Italy) and Confluye (Spain).
We believe that the supported employment methodology can help people with intellectual disabilities above 60% to obtain a quality job, related to their interests. We are sure that labor inclusion can open doors to other human rights and has a very positive impact on the well-being and participation in society of any person. However, unemployment continues to affect people with intellectual disabilities much more that it does in the rest of the population average.
What is our aim?
We want to disseminate the supported employment methodology among companies, NGOs and training centers. Implement this methodology in more EU territories to generate inclusive jobs.
To achieve this objective, we are going to publish a study on resources to promote employment and good practices for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the ordinary market.
The professionals of Arci and Confluye will disseminate a manual with training and help strategies to facilitate the labor inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, with the support of mentors and job coaches.
Once these publications are disseminated, we will put our idea into practice. We will carry out two pre-employment skills training courses and launch two supported employment pilot groups in the regions of Madrid and Florence.
In these groups, at least 12 people with intellectual disabilities will find stable work. The story of our experience will help to improve the supported employment service and make it known in as many countries as possible.
On this website we will publish news and results that we achieve, so that any public or private entity that wants to promote access to employment for people with disabilities can take advantage of the experience and methodology of Promoters Project We start loaded with lots enthusiasm.
